Japan, poor in its natural resources, should give priority to establishment of a state on the basis of creative industrial technology, that is to say, to the promotion of science and technology to build up intellectual assets. It is more and more urgent to both the country and human beings to foster competent and imaginative engineers who will shoulder the future technological development.

Now in the 21st century, technical colleges, in cooperation with the industrial world and by striving to meet its demands, are expected to answer for bringing up all-round engineers with originality, internationality and enterprising spirit for the purpose of creating new technology.

The mission of the teachers for a technical college is firstly to educate the students, followed by research and administration, in order for the school to be open, carry out its duties, and contribute to the local community.

Situated in Toyama Prefecture, one of the most industrial ones along the Sea of Japan, our school stands in the environment to render services to the local community through its practical activities. Commanding a fine view of the peaks of Mt.Tateyama to the east, the campus, in a spacious rural landscape in the southern part of Toyama City, the capital of the prefecture, also provides ideal surroundings appropriate to the integrated five-or seven-year consistent education.

We take pleasure in submitting this catalogue for your inspection and having opportunities to receive your precious advice. We sincerely hope that our efforts and devotion will drive the school to activate in efficient educational and research work for the brilliant opening of the new century.
