* Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering

Experiment in Inorganic Chemistry
Industrial chemistry is concerned with the engineering aspects of materials and their components, that is, a study of the application of chemical and biochemical principles to the production of useful materials. The materials range from synthetic plastics to antibiotics, from petroleum to concentrated sulfuric acid, and from amino acids to agricultural chemicals.

The students of this department are required in their fourth year to choose either of the two courses - Material Engineering or Biochemical Engineering.

The Material Engineering Course provides the students with a knowledge and technology of the properties of materials and the synthesis of chemicals. The Biochemical Engineering Course offers a broad knowledge of biotechnology, especially of technology with respect to microorganisms.
